Belgravia
An Elegant and Historic Area in Central London
Belgravia is one of London’s most elegant and sought-after areas, known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful feel. The area is famous for its grand white houses, lovely garden squares, and its close proximity to landmarks like Buckingham Palace. Despite being an affluent neighbourhood, Belgravia still feels like a close-knit community.
The area began to take shape in the 1820s when Richard Grosvenor, the 2nd Marquess of Westminster, asked architect Thomas Cubitt to design a stylish residential district. The result was Belgravia, named after the Marquess’s title. The building of its iconic terraces and squares turned Belgravia into a symbol of refined taste and exclusivity.
